Family celebrations such as weddings, civil partnerships, and christenings can often leave children feeling bored and left out. Just as strolling magic can be a superb ice-breaker for adults at a dinner function, so comical stand-up or close-up magic can help keep children feeling more involved in environments that are otherwise quite sober and adult-orientated.
I'm happy to include some close-up magic for children in my normal strolling magic repertoire if it's needed. But just as popular, I've found, is a formal stand-up magic show, which takes place towards the end of dinner, during speeches, or when adults are chatting over coffee.
